Are you hosting this Christmas with your family or planning a holiday party with friends and need help designing a tablescape? This can be a fun time to get creative and experiment with various decor items you already have around the house while adding a few new pieces. There's something magical about the holiday season with sparkling lights, holly, scents of cinnamon, and an array of greenery that gets us excited for Christmas and gives us even more reason to decorate every part of the home. Designing a gorgeous tablescape can create an even more inviting atmosphere to your kitchen and dining space for when friends or family arrive. You'll be complemented by your guests at how beautiful it looks and they'll get excited about the food you've prepared. Consider the following tips below to create your ideal Christmas tablescape.
Start with thinking about the color scheme you want for your tablescape. We thought of keeping the color scheme neutral and only adding red to the table. To prevent the tablescape from looking bland, we incorporated metallic hues that bring in sparkle and glam. We wanted the red charger to stand out quite a bit so decided to place it on both ends of the table, with the other chargers remaining neutral but adding appealing texture to the overall design. We suggest mixing things up and doing something similar with your plate organization, whether that be by having a few in a different design or just one at the head of the table. This will create a beautiful contrast and draw the eye around the table. The silverware in gold incorporates warmth and coordinates well with the centerpieces in gold as well.

Instead of placing a classic napkin to one side of each plate, fold into a charming design such as a Christmas tree like this one. This is trending on Tik Tok and is such a cute way to fold your napkins. You can get more creative with it by adding a piece of eucalyptus in it or plant of choice for added interest. It's a great idea, especially if you want to make the tablescape extra festive from the plates to the centerpiece.
The centerpiece should be the focal point to the tablescape and complement the plates and silverware in style. We wanted to bring in greenery to keep the design from looking plain and think greenery is always a go-to element for just about any area you'll be designing, whether that be an entry table or fireplace mantel. Eucalyptus is an easy type of plant, whether real or faux, to incorporate into your tablescape as it pairs well with a variety of decor. We also twisted a trendy pom pom garland around the eucalyptus and twinkly LED star lights to add even more shine and visual interest. LED lights are a great, simple way to feature lighting without having to plug them in anywhere.
Going along with the centerpiece, consider adding height, dimension, and more color into the tablescape through a variety of decor. Candles are a great way to add height to the table and we especially adored these gold candle holders to tie the gold silverware together. We felt something was missing so we also added a few silver glitter trees to the centerpiece which completed the tablescape.
Adding name cards can personalize each table setting and prevent the guests from having a hard time deciding where to sit. There are various ways you can create name cards or find them. You can design your own with cardstock paper or order a few on Etsy. Whichever is easiest to you and then set them on each plate.
