Who doesn't love a good design flat lay as inspiration when designing your new home or deciding on what to change up with your current? Whether you call it a flat lay, mood board, or vignette, we've got not one, but four of them! Our designers created four design flat lays of different interior styles as inspiration to share with you.
We continue to enjoy sharing with you the design vignettes our designers have put together as inspiration, ideas, and consideration. Today, we're showcasing an organic modern vignette put together by one of our amazing designers who carefully selected some of our design features from our design studio. This organic modern design flat lay is meant to be inspiration and help you with making the best decision to selecting design features for your new home. Whether you prefer a bit of one design style mixed with another or solely sticking to one, we've hoped this series has helped you discover new preferences or insights into creating your dream home.
View below for the details to this flat lay chosen from our award-winning design studio product catalog.
What is organic modern design? The design style blends organic forms found in nature with modern, sleek finishes and details that are currently being seen with new builds. The modern organic design style integrates natural textures and materials into the living space along with clean lines and boxier features. Mainly featuring neutral colors in various shades, this style keeps spaces feeling calm and serene for a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Our designer chose paint colors that complement the lighter colors from the cabinets to the flooring while still remaining pretty neutral and muted to exude a feeling of nature throughout. If you're considering this design style for your new home, don't be afraid to add bolder accents with unique shapes – such as the black and white accent tile in this flat lay, by featuring the accent tile to your powder bath, owner's bath, or laundry.

This kitchen showcases an organic modern style through the use of wood cabinets, clean lines, neutral-toned flooring, white countertops, and simple, unadorned hardware. You can easily create this style by following the guidelines of using neutral colors, textures, and materials for your new kitchen.
To design your living space with this style, incorporate long lines through the fireplace mantel, tiles, flooring, windows, and even with furniture once you move in. The lines will provide a modern feel while the neutral shades and materials bring organic style to the space. Adding plants next to your furniture will also make the space feel more calming, so you and your family can relax easily whenever spending time in the main living space.
If you're not all for this design style, but have a bit of interest in including it into your home, feature it in a loft space or laundry instead of your main living space. You can keep the space simple with white or light shades for the flooring and painted walls, then, later on, add modern furniture that features long-lined metallic frames. After adding furniture, incorporate organic elements through rounded forms from chairs to decor accessories like vases and display pieces.
Similar to the loft space design, remember to keep the design of the space simple with tan, white, and creams in mind. That way, you can build the organic modern design style through furniture and decor similar to the above pictures. Don't hesitate to use the geometric and neutral wallpaper for an accent wall if that's more your style! It still counts as the same design style, thanks to the geometric lines and neutral colors.
If you add a neutral backsplash to your bathroom, it doesn't have to be boring, just create different shapes with the tile for a showstopping accent. Keep the cabinets made of wood simple without paint to complement the overall space and let the wood textures shine. The light tones and wood materials will keep your bathroom light and bright for a calming environment you'll enjoy walking into for your morning routine.
