What's your favorite part about the fall season? Is it the cooler nights and changing of the leaves or the chance to wear comfier cardigans and layers? Whichever it is, we're also excited about the new season, mostly because of the opportunity to change up home decor, bring out the cozy throw blankets, and warm up with a cup of cocoa, tea, or any hot beverage.
It's the first day of fall and what better way to celebrate than to start decorating your home with autumnal items! Whether that be with faux leaves of oranges and reds or pumpkins, incorporating fall vibes into your home will create the warmth and excitement that this season brings. So grab your previous fall decor or jot down a list of items you'll shop for with the fall decor ideas we've rounded up below!
Decorate your home for fall by incorporating a letter board with a fall phrase of any sort. This could be as simple as "happy fall y'all" like this one from Roolee Home or a witty and funny phrase like "thanks fall, my muffin top is now a pumpkin roll." A letter board is a simple, yet effective way to incorporate holiday-themed decor through the use of wording while pairing it with other holiday decor. Place on kitchen open shelving, your fireplace mantel, or together with your other fall centerpiece decor on a coffee table.
Pumpkins, whether real or fake, are classic to fall time and can be utilized as decor in a variety of ways. Search for pumpkin decor that catches your eye and will coordinate well with your home's decor style. The perfect place to set small faux pumpkins is on the fireplace mantel to put them on display – similar to the photo above. This instantly creates a focal point of decor and updates your main living space for fall without having to do much more decorating after that to the living room.

If you don't have a fireplace mantel or want another focal point with fall decor, your family room coffee table is just the spot. Orchestrate neutral decor from vases with branches to candles with the scent of pumpkin spice or autumn notes for a simple and beautiful fall design. This will look classic to your living space and no worries about whether it matches your current decor, as you won't be integrating black and orange shades into the mix which might clash with your interior.
Another simple way to update your living space for fall is by switching out your couch and chair pillows and throws. Head to your local or favorite home goods store and find seasonal pillows or pick some out with colors relevant to fall to warm up the look of your living space – such as pillows with maroon and deep oranges or yellows that we unconsciously correlate with the fall season. What's great about swapping pillows and throw blankets out to your couch and chairs is that it's an inexpensive decor option that doesn't require renovation of any kind or extensive search online for just the right supplies to create a time-consuming DIY.
