Mother's Day is just around the corner, and what better way than to give your mom, wife, or loved one a more thoughtful gift, without the obligation of spending money? Yes, sometimes it's definitely necessary to buy a gift for them, especially if they've hinted for months, but for the most part, a free gift can be just as meaningful.
Scroll through to see some mother's day gift ideas from home, that don't cost money, but are still just as special.
Who doesn't have a sweet tooth? Surprise your mom by whipping up her favorite dessert in the kitchen! Collect the ingredients needed and personalize it by adding her name in icing or wrapping it in adorable packaging that she'd love, if you'll be delivering it to her. The only work she may do, is taking it out of the oven (if applicable).
We have yet to meet a mom who doesn't appreciate a simple note from their kid, whether small or grown-up. Mom's never get enough appreciation for what they do and a thoughtful note reminds them that all they do doesn't go unnoticed. Write down some of your favorite memories together, aspiring qualities she has that you'd like, or anything that comes to mind when she's been there for you.
Have fun together on Mother's Day! Spend quality family time together as a family by getting everyone to play a game or two that your mom loves to play most. You can also go around and have each family member say a few kind things about your mother as well.

Does your mom love a good sleep in? If so, prep her breakfast in bed and set on a tray to take to her once she wakes up or keep it ready for her in the kitchen. Consider her favorite breakfast food when making it, whether eggs, fruits, toast, oatmeal, or cereal. If you're bringing it to her while she's in bed, add a flower or cute decor piece to the tray.
Whether or not you already have house chores, give your mom the gift of making her bed. Choose a day or two around Mother's Day when she'll least expect it (if on Mother's Day, make sure to also make her bed another day so it's more of a surprise). A mom wants nothing more than a break or two away from cleaning the house and more time relaxing back or spending time with the family.
Host a pamper or glam session with your mom. She can sit back while you give her a facial or do her makeup, or you both can do your own together. As long as you two enjoy spending time together relaxing or glamming up, that's all that matters! Find beauty products already stashed in your vanity or makeup drawers to use, so no additional money is spent.
Is your mom also a plant mom? If so, water all the real plants around your house for her. You can create a little ticket stub for 1-month of watering the plants around the house for her, giving her less work around the house. This may seem like such a simple task, but it will go a long way for her, as she'll enjoy the extra time on her hobbies or resting.
If you enjoy decorating or organizing, you can do so in her room or a part of the house to surprise her! If she happens to have a large jewelry selection that's gotten a bit messy, you can reorganize it beautifully. Or, if you want to mix up the current way the living room furniture and decor looks, swap decor or move furniture to do so.
Once again, mom's love it when you clean up the house in any way, shape, or form! Grab a towel and spray to wipe down the windows, do the dishes after dinner, or clean up toys from the playroom. Anything you can think of that will brighten up her day.
An exception to a free gift for your mom, are flowers! A popular gift by high demand, flowers are a gift you'll most likely need to purchase, unless you happen to have a flower garden, approved for picking. There's nothing like the smell of fresh flowers to your living space that you're mom will love!
P.S. We have a Mother's Day Giveaway on Instagram going on until this Friday, May 7th. Go check it out!
