When it comes to interior design trends, it can be hard to keep up and be in-the-know at all times, so we'll be covering a few of the major design trends on the blog for you to gain the design inspiration you need. First, you may want to start by taking our quick design quiz to discover the interior trend we recommend you try out. One of those popular design trends is featuring dark tone accents to your home and this trend doesn't seem to be going anywhere soon, as we keep seeing it everywhere from Pinterest to our homebuyers selection choices for their new homes.
The dark color accent trend has been featured in an array of ways, particularly popular to cabinets in the kitchen and tile to bathrooms, creating a striking appearance to any home. We've collected up a few ways our previous and current model homes have integrated this trend for a timeless approach. We've also included a couple of the design options from our design product catalog to our award-winning design studio. View below for details.
Creating an accent wall to your living room or powder bathroom by painting it in a deep hue will create dimension and add a bit of drama to your space for an interesting appeal. If that sounds too daunting for your taste, you can add dark shades of color through smaller decor, such as featuring black vases for plants, a patterned pillow or two in a dark gray tone, or a dark, muted green photo frame.

Black cabinets to a kitchen are all the rage right now! This creates a modern style to your kitchen, that looks so sleek and sophisticated paired with white countertops, backsplash, or light colored flooring. As long as you consider the other design elements to the room and coordinate with the black cabinets, the kitchen will come together beautifully for a modern look that will be timeless.
Want your cabinets to pop? Feature a dark backsplash for the perfect contrast to your kitchen. For a modern farmhouse look, choose a backsplash similar to the one featured above paired with white cabinets and incorporate natural elements in decor, from textured wood furniture to potted plants.

If you're building a new home, you can opt for black framed windows in place of white framed ones. Black framed windows are trending big time right now and complement a more modern farmhouse exterior, but can also work with an all-modern exterior as well. The juxtaposition of black windows against a white exterior looks stunning, as many homeowner's have been updating their homes to have this look.
Talk about looking super sleek, the black shower and tub faucets in the top photo and tile in the others above, showcase just that. The black hardware and tile instantly adds a modern aesthetic to each bathroom. The small herringbone shower tile is mesmerizing to look at, combined with gold shower hardware, for a glam and modern appearance we love to our previous Remington model home.

Black stair railing has been commonly seen in place of wood railing to most newer homes, and for good reason, as it creates such a modern style that also looks classic. If your stairs are near the entrance, it will create a beautiful focal point to your entryway and draw the eye up to the ceiling and throughout the space.
Another great way to incorporate the dark tone accent trend is by featuring it in your home office. Many of us have been working from home, so why not create your ideal workspace that fits your personality and style? A dark-toned theme wall designs a workspace you'll admire, as long as you pick a color you're a fan of, whether that be more of a jewel-tone or neutral one.
