Shaving Cream Dyed Easter Eggs

In search of Easter egg dye ideas? We've got a unique technique for dyeing your Easter eggs this year for extra fun! Get your family together and dye some Easter eggs this week using this technique. Instead of using just food coloring to create a basic design for your Easter eggs, consider using shaving cream mixed with food coloring and you'll discover a subtle marble effect to the eggshells that are eye-catching. Items you'll need:

  • Shaving cream (or whipped cream if you plan to eat the hardboiled eggs)
  • Food dye colors
  • Cookie sheet
  • Utensil for mixing food dye in shaving cream
  • Hardboiled eggs
  • Paper towels
  • Bowl 
  • Water
  • Rubber gloves

Instructions: 

  • Spread shaving cream (or whipped cream) onto a cookie sheet.
  • Drip food coloring dye of choice onto shaving cream and mix in with utensil of choice. 
  • Take a hardboiled egg and with rubber gloves on, gently push it into the shaving cream while spinning the color onto the egg. Leave in shaving cream.
  • Repeat with all eggs.
  • After 20 minutes of the eggs sitting in the shaving cream to soak up the color, remove each one by one. 
  • Take each and dip in bowl of water to rinse off the shaving cream.
  • Admire your creations!! Optional: if you'd like to eat them, store them in the fridge in containers.
