Utah has no shortage of festive spirit this year with corn mazes, pumpkin patches, autumn colors, fall celebrations and haunted attractions all leading up to the big event: Halloween! Whether you are looking for an event designed for grown-ups or a family friendly activity, there is something to cater to everyone’s spooky wishes! Halloween celebrations in Utah are big and we couldn’t be more excited to share 31 ways to celebrate Halloween in Utah with your friends and family this year.
Pumpkin patches and corn mazes can easily become a fall tradition for your family or close friends. Pick your favorite pumpkins, get outside for some fresh farm air, and pose with your family for cute photos at one of many pumpkin patches around Utah. Stay in a group and get lost together weaving through tall rows of fresh corn. Corn mazes are also a great way for kids to exercise problem solving, memory and leadership skills as well. Let children take turns leading the group. After all of the fun has commenced you will have had a fantastic time and pumpkins to take home for decorating.
This fun activity falls first on the list in honor of October 26 being National Pumpkin Day! Pumpkin decorating is a great activity for fine motor skill development. Carve or paint pumpkins with friends or family! If you have time, you could save the seeds and innards to make toasted pumpkin seeds or bake pumpkin bread later.
Cornbelly’s has a variety of activities for little kids they will be entertained for hours, but not to worry there are fun activities for teens too. If you are looking for a spooky experience consider going after dark, this is when it becomes more of a haunted house attraction.

This local family farm has a fun pumpkin patch that is full of festive activities for the whole family. Check out the unique pumpkins they grow at this farm, the wagon farm tour, apple slingshot, and old-fashioned popcorn crank. The pumpkin patch is open September 21-October 31st.
This farm in Orem has their Fall Fair set up like a carnival with rides, a huge corn maze, wagon ride, fair rides, slides, petting zoo and great photo spots. There is also a pumpkin patch and food trucks that are available to everyone. The Fall Fair runs through November 6.
Glen Ray’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Spanish Fork is a fun spot for families. There is a big corn maze, pumpkin patch, big slides, corn pits, tractor rides, petting zoo, and a separate area for smaller kids. Looking for something scary? Consider going through their haunted corn maze at night! Glen Ray’s Corn Maze is open through October 30th.
As you ride in the wagon through the spooky forest, you listen to the Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Throughout the ride at certain scary parts, there are haunted things happening outside the wagon, too. Be careful as the woods are rumored to be haunted and frequented by the apparition of the Headless Horseman! The Pumpkin Train takes you on a 40 minute train ride where you are entertained by costumed characters and beautiful fall colors out of each window. Included with your ride, you will get a pumpkin cookie and at the depot you can pick out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. Don’t forget to take a trip through the (family friendly) haunted car while at the depot. The Pumpkin train runs through Oct. 30, 2021.
Board the mystical Halloween Cruise by Clas Ropes that will take you along the Provo River. There are hundreds of jack-o-lanterns and lights reflecting on the water, a pirate attack, and spooky stories. It’s very family friendly and fun to be on the water. This annual October event in Murray City Park bills itself as “Utah’s only family-friendly haunted attraction.” Families can choose between Spooky and Silly trails. Admission is just $5 and includes cocoa, doughnut, and other fun activities. Proceeds benefit The Fight Against Child Abuse in Utah.

WitchFest at Gardner Village is a favorite fall activity for many families. It's free to wander through and see all the witches on display. More than half a dozen witch-themed events and activities are scheduled.
The Canyon Road Haunt can be found on Canyon Road in Pleasant Grove. This haunt is a drive through display and is open all day long. During the daytime you can see all the details of the Halloween decor, and during the night the lights are on and there is Halloween music playing. They ask for a donation of non-perishable food or cash that they give to a local charity. Otherwise the drive is free of charge.
Millcreek Gardens put together a fun, family-friendly spook alley. Instead of guts, gore and chainsaws, this spook alley has traditional Halloween monsters that aren’t scary and a clever story walk-through various scenes of Transylvania: A hysterical fortune-teller, a botched laboratory experiment. Learn the haunted, spooky history of Provo on a night bike tour that will take you through a cemetery, around town, or along the Provo River! Visit various haunted locations in Provo and you get to hear a historical ghost story about that location. You'll be hard-pressed to find a healthier and more heart-pounding alternative in all of Utah.
Haunted Halloween Haven is a fun and free Halloween display and haunted house walk-through in Spanish Fork, Utah. Started in 2003 with a small garage haunt for the neighborhood kids and now it has expanded into quite a production! They incorporate some of the latest projection effects and digital technologies into the haunted house as well as animatronics and other lighting effects. Admission is FREE! The haunted house is open from 7:00 to 10:00 pm Wednesday, October 27th through Saturday the 30th.

Werewolf tag is a name for playing hide and seek tag outdoors after dark. There are many names for this simple but fun game. Be sure to establish boundaries before play starts. If younger children are hiding, break into pairs to hide. Once the people hiding have been spotted or suspect they’ve been found, the chase is on! No one is officially out until they’re tagged. Once someone is tagged they join the werewolf so there’s more than one seeker. By the end of the game there’s a whole pack of werewolves!
Flashlight tag is a nice alternative if the Werewolf tag is a little too scary. Play tag at night, but participants carry flashlights so they can be seen and can see around them.
Lantern making is a fun crafting idea and a great way to decorate for a party. Simply take some brown or white paper lunch bags and cut fun shapes and designs into them. Put a little bit of sand into the bottom of the bag and place a battery operated candle in the base.

If you live in Lehi make an evening of driving around and checking out some of the fun Halloween Light Displays. There are a variety of themes and displays, some do a great job timing the lights to music, and every year there are new props and more people participating.
