Pantone's Color of The Year 2022 and How to Add it in Your Home

January 4, 2022

As you may know, PANTONE releases a new color of the year each and every year. We are always thrilled to see the shade chosen every year and we were right on it when the new year approached. The color of the year for 2022 is PANTONE 17-3938 Very Peri, a light blue-violet infusing a sense of possibilities and endless energy. After a few years in isolation, PANTONE designed this color to embrace the future of change and optimism through the blend of blue and purple. This color of the year can be exciting to add to your home and give it a bit of a refresh, especially if you're drawn to the color. Curious to know how to add Very Peri into your home this year? We've collected up a few ways below.

There are a variety of ways to integrate the Very Peri color into your home and decorating with the color can be quite simple. Painting is a cheap alternative as well but requires you to coordinate your furniture or to purchase new furniture in order to coordinate with this unique color. We picked out a few decor favorites of ours.

Round Side Table - Hayneedle

This side table is showstopping! With a clear blue-violet base and gold accented tabletop, this side table will make a great addition to your living room for inviting guests. The gold makes it simple to match with your current furniture, but make sure to add a few little vases or so of the Very Peri throughout the room to include enough of the color to your space.

Throw Pillow Cover - Society6

New throw pillow covers are the easiest way to swap out the old and bring in the new color of the year. Switch up your living room, family room, or bedroom with these pillow covers which pair well with most neutral shades of couches and beds. If you want a more subtle approach, you can mix this new color into your current pillow color scheme instead of replacing it.

Abstract Credenza - Society6

This is such a unique credenza! We think this would make your space look more modern, whether you add it to your entry, bedroom, kitchen, or living room. It'll become the focal point to any room and update it instantly. You're bound to hear compliments from friends and family when they see this work of art!

Duvet Cover - Society6

Why not integrate the color into your bedroom as a duvet cover? Are you bored with your current bedspread? Donate your bedspread and add this new one to your room. If you have lighter neutral shades and earthy-toned elements, this will look amazing in your room. It exudes such an inspiring feel to any room and will give your bedroom a refresh.

Table Lamp - Target

Adding a table lamp to your nightstand in your bedroom or side table in your living room is the perfect way to add light and a bit of flair with this new color. The paintbrush strokes are eye-catching and is a more subtle way to include Very Peri in your home.

Floral Area Rug - Wayfair

A fun floral area rug in blue-violet features the color of the year in a charming way. Place in your entry, living room, or bedroom for added interest. This is an easy way to showcase the color as it can be replaced once you want to change things up.

Mystic Iris Paint Color - Glidden

Create a tranquil space by painting your study, bedroom, or laundry space with this color. It works well with light neutral shades, plants, and darker or lighter shades of blue-violet for a monochromatic look. If you want to experiment with this color, paint a small section or one wall to your mudroom, laundry, or half-bath since those aren't the main living spaces of your home and will be simple to change if you don't end up favoring it.
