FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOGAN, Utah — June 24, 2026 — Visionary Homes, one of the largest privately held homebuilders in Utah, has named Ryan Smith as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1, 2026. Jeff Jackson, who co-founded the company in 2004 and has served as CEO since its founding, will become Chairman of the Board on January 1, 2027.
Smith joined Visionary Homes on June 15, 2026, and will work alongside Jackson during the transition period before assuming the CEO role on September 1. From September 1 through December 31, Jackson will remain full-time as Founder and Advisor to the CEO, supporting Smith through a smooth transition before formally becoming Chairman of the Board on January 1, 2027. The transition is part of a thoughtful leadership succession process.
“I am honored to join Visionary Homes,” said Ryan Smith. “Jeff and the Visionary team have created a special organization. You can feel the company’s commitment to quality, values, and people in every interaction with the team. I am excited to work alongside Jeff and the entire Visionary organization to build on this legacy and serve more families in our markets.”
“From the first time I met Ryan, one thing was clear: he is a kind, driven leader people instinctively respect,” said Jeff Jackson, Co-Founder and CEO of Visionary Homes. “He pushes hard for results while leading with humility — a rare combination. He is the right person to lead Visionary forward, and he has my full confidence and support.”
Smith brings more than 20 years of experience scaling production homebuilding and master-planned communities across the Mountain West and Southwest. He joins Visionary from Oakwood Homes, a Clayton Homes company, where he served as President and Chief Operating Officer and helped lead significant sales and unit growth in 2025 despite challenging market conditions. He previously led Oakwood’s Utah and Arizona division from Salt Lake City and held division leadership roles at Beazer Homes and Shea Homes, and he holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
Visionary Homes operates in partnership with Misawa Homes America, the U.S. subsidiary of Japan’s Misawa Homes Co., Ltd. The company is positioning itself for continued growth, including a long-term goal of scaling toward 2,000 annual home starts and expanding into neighboring markets.
This leadership transition is a planned step in that strategy. The company’s mission, values, and day-to-day operations remain unchanged for its team members, customers, trade partners, and communities.
As Chairman, Jackson will provide board leadership and governance, support the company’s long-term strategy, and steward its culture and values.
